"Now is the time for all good members to come to the aid of their association"!!
The Massachusetts Historical Association has approved our grant request for $50,000 for the Wyman House Restoration. Now we need to raise the rest of the matching funds.
PLEASE, open your genealogical hearts and generous pockets, and send your tax-deductible contributions so we can take advantage of every dollar that can be matched. Large, or small, we welcome any and all amounts, as they will be available for the matching grant.
Do not fear that the barn has been abandoned- at this time, the contributions we have received have been disbursed for the barn frames that are stored on the property, and the architectural fees, as well as other minor costs. But, none of the barn monies are eligible for matching, so we need to jump on the MHC wagon and get something done with the interior. It is such a sorry sight now, and it will be exciting to see it emerge with a brand new look as it is historicaly restored, and can be opened to the public, especially the Burlington school children who visited every year, and were on the property the day before the tragic fire.
All contributions will be acknowledged in writing. Thank you for answering this most important call. Our deadline for matching monies is June 1st.
